Alfredo León León, screenwriter director and producer formed in Ecuador and Spain. His debut film "Mono con Gallinas" is a historical coming of age about the war between Ecuador and Peru. With this project he participated in the V Film Development Course 2007 in Madrid, organized by Casa de América, Fundación Carolina, Ibermedia among other institutions. He was also the winner of 4 awards from the National Council of Cinematography of Ecuador in different categories. It had its commercial premiere in Ecuador in 2013 and in Argentina in 2017. Mono con Gallinas had its world premiere at the World Premieres Film Festival in Manila, Philippines. Where he won 3 awards: Grand Jury Prize, Best Male Performance and Grand Technical Prize. Alfredo prepares the premiere of his second feature film "Sumergible" for 2020, a co-production of his own film company founded in 2014 called Boom (www.boom.ec) in conjunction with Carnaval Cine from Ecuador and Proyección Films from Colombia. Sumergible has an international Latin American cast and is a story contained within a narco submersible taking a trip on the high seas. This project has already been supported with the development and co-production funds of Ibermedia, the development and production funds of the National Institute of Cinematography of Ecuador in 2013 and 2015 and the FDC co-production fund in Colombia. Alfredo is currently developing the fictional project LOS DESECHABLES, in addition to being executive producer of the documentary feature Pasillos de Cuna and writes several fiction projects.
