Ecuadorian, of Italian origin, he has directed more than 40 national productions including fiction, documentary series, miniseries, historical dramas and various works on the history, literature and geography of Ecuador. He is one of the first Ecuadorian directors to portray Ecuadorian history through film and achieve international recognition. His productions include Cumandá, Polvo y ceniza, El nightingale of America, Matilde, Mercedes de Jesús, Recuerdos de Paita, Ángel de Piedra, Olmedo, Manuela Sáenz, among others.
