During his youth, Jorge Banet filled the stages of various nightclubs in his native Madrid with applause. He dressed and made up as a woman and played the character of La Jorja, an irreverent and uncomplicated drag queen. Now at almost forty years old, Jorge is Director of the Translation Center at the Universidad Pontificia Católica del Ecuador, as well as the Career Coordinator of Sign Language Interpretation. Thanks to its social activism, he is a referent in the fight for the rights of people with disabilities.
